Working Towards Skilled Trades in Manufacturing

Get your foot in the door in the Industrial/Manufacturing sector through the Working Towards Skilled Trades in Manufacturing project.  This 18-week project will provide you with 10 weeks of paid job readiness, academic upgrading and safety training followed by an 8 week paid work placement.

Potential careers to explore include welder, sheet metal worker, machinist, general production worker/machine operator, industrial electrician, millwright, pipefitter, etc...

Begins April 19th at Dartmouth Learning Network.

To participate you must:

  • be 18 years of age or older and not in school
  • be unemployed or underemployed
  • live within a 1.5-hour commute to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

- Preference will be given to women, youth, members of diverse communities and visible minorities.
- Childcare and travel allowances are available as needed.
